I have had this yarn in my stash for months and now I could finally cast on! It has gorgeous colours, it's actually more beautiful in real life than in this picture. Variegated yarns are not easy to design with because they tend to steal the show so complex stitch patterns are usually out of the question. So far so good, however, I already have more of this project since I took this picture so I'll have to figure out what to do with the border soon.

Now this is a long story. I started this project first more than two years ago, maybe more. When I reached the armholes, I realized I hadn't managed to follow my own pattern and the stitch pattern I worked with had a different gauge than the one I swatched and designed with so it came out too small. I frogged the whole project and didn't start over immediately, I was a bit disappointed because of this mishap and needed a break from it. I finally started over last October, all was well up to the armholes. However, when I finished the left front, I realized it was several centimeters taller than the right front. My gauge was never this off and I just didn't understand the why, I used the same needles. Sure, there are other things that can influence your gauge, even your mood! Maybe I was super-relaxed when I knitted the left front. So I had to frog it. Which resulted in me being not that relaxed anymore so my second attempt at the left front came out perfect. Luckily, there were no further problems with the rest of the project :)

I'm almost ready with the pattern in one size, I'll start grading this week. I think it might be ready for testing by the end of July or the beginning of August.
