babatakaro progress2 squareI have been working on a baby blanket for a few weeks now. Not because it's difficult to knit, I just usually work on more than one project at a time. If the stitch pattern looks familiar to you, that's because you might have seen it before: I designed it for my Golden Hazel shawl about three years ago. And I loved it so much I just had to use it one more time. I thought it would make a wonderful blanket for a little baby girl :)

The blanket begins with a provisional cast-on in the middle, first we knit the first half, then undo the provisional cast-on and knit the other half of the blanket in the other direction. If you have never done this before, no problem, I'm planning to make a tutorial for you.

This sample is knitted in Rowan Softknit Cotton, which is a worsted weight yarn. I want to swatch in other weights and materials as well and include several options in the pattern.

Do you think you might want to test knit this pattern? Just fill in this form: https://goo.gl/forms/bGZrIOpFy8I7FGtD3 and I'll notify you when you can volunteer. You will need a ravelry account because I run all my test knits there. Filling in the form doesn't mean you have committed yourself, it's ok if you change your mind and decide not to volunteer after all. On the other hand, it doesn't mean you'll automatically be accepted as a test knitter, either. It means you'll get a notification when you can volunteer so you don't miss the opportunity.
