Wisteria is one of the most adventurous shawls I have made so far. When I started the project, I didn’t have any elaborate plans, didn’t really know where I was going, I just wanted to use this pretty yarn, drew a simple chart and started knitting. I never thought much ahead, only drew one chart or a couple of rows at a time and tried to use my intuition to figure out what to do next. This must be the reason why this shawl has everything I love most in knitting: lace, cables and leaves. The pattern is broken down into five charts (written-out version always available!) going from relatively simple to a bit challenging and then back to relaxing, always keeping your interest. The middle part contains quite a number of cables, which form an arch-like pattern, giving the design an architectural feel.

This pattern is both charted and written out, has been tech edited and test knitted in all three available languages. You can find a sample page among the pattern pictures.

I provide pattern support, which goes without saying but still, I want to point it out. If you have any questions, just write an email or pm me here on ravelry. I speak English, German and Hungarian.

A little note on the yarns: I used a different yarn for the last couple of rows. Using only one type of yarn is possible, however, finding the perfect contrast colour can be fun! :) And a great opportunity to use up some of your leftovers.

A little note on sizing: the size of the shawl is somewhat adjustable but not much. You can work more or less repeats of Chart A than given but all the other charts can only be worked once. Naturally, a different gauge also results in a different size.
